Quick sketches
- Pencil, pen, marker and eraser on blank, dotted or squared paper. A stylus draws thicker when you press harder. Saved sketches download as PNG.
Floor plans and sections
- Walls, lines, arcs and dimensions that snap into place. Type 3600 for a 3.6 m wall. Drop in doors, furniture and people, then export PNG, SVG, a scale PDF or a DXF.
Riffs and melodies
- A piano from C2 to C7, ten guitar chords plus single notes, and a nine-pad drum kit. Hit record, keep the takes you like, download them as MIDI or WAV.
Free architecture symbols
- 51 drawings for plans, elevations, sections and axonometrics, all at real size. Download SVG or PNG and use them in your own projects, personal or commercial.
How saving works
Everything is free to use. While you work, your latest changes are kept as a draft in this browser. When something is worth keeping, sign in with Google and save it to your account — it's then there on every phone, tablet and computer you sign in on.
Saving uses a couple of credits, and you get free credits every day you sign in. Only saved work can be downloaded.

Questions
Is JotJam free?
- Yes. Sketching, designing and playing are free and need no account. Saving to your account uses credits, and you get free ones every day you sign in.
Do I need to install anything?
- No. JotJam runs in the browser — Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox — on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
Does it work on an iPad with Apple Pencil?
- Yes. The sketch pad reads pencil pressure, and once you draw with the pencil, your fingers only move and zoom the page, so you can rest your palm on the screen.
Which files can I download?
- Sketches as PNG. Designs as PNG and SVG, plus a scale PDF or a DXF for a few credits. Riffs as MIDI and WAV, plus sheet music (PDF or MusicXML) for a few credits. Symbols from the library as SVG and PNG, free and without signing in.
Who is it for?
- Architecture and design students, designers, and anyone who sketches or plays music for fun and wants to catch an idea before it's gone.
